How to reach Ramakrishna Mission Aalo




All visitors are Heartily Welcome to visit our Ramakrishna Mission Aalo premises.

      Visit to Aalo: October to April

      Necessary Documents:

  • Inner line Permit/Protected Area permit (It is necessary to enter Arunachal)
  • Dry food, water, warm clothes .


     There are two ways to reach Aalo           

1. via Guwahati and

2. via Dibrugarh


Via Guwahati 

  • Railway station
  • Airport (Airport is 30 kms far from guwahati city)
  • Bus services (both state transport/private) are available in Guwahati. We recommend  NETWORK TRAVELS which operates bus service from Guwahati to Along directly. The bus starts from ISBT. Advance booking is necessary from the respective head office of the service providers which is in the Paltan Bazar near Guwahati Railway station. It takes about 24 hours.The journey includes 6hours hilly strain. 
  • By bus you can go to Silapathar (A small town where hotels  are available) and from there you can hire light vehicles to reach Along. You can hire a tata sumo to reach RK mission Aalo. It takes about 6 hours.


Via Dibrugarh

  • Airport (Airport is 20 kms far from dibrugarh city) 

From Dibrugarh airport take an autorikshaw and ask for ferryghat (named bogibilghat). You have to cross the river Brahmaputra to reach silapathar. From silapathar you have to follow same way already mentioned earlier.

      Entry Procedure:

Arunachal Pradesh being a Protected Area, tourists are required to get an Inner Line Permit ( ILP )/ Protected Area Permit. A number of entry formalities have been relaxed for foreign tourists. The permits can be obtained in following ways :-

I.   For domestic tourists

Innerline Permits are issued by the Secretary (Political),Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar and respective Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Districts. These can also be obtained from Resident Commissioner's office/ Liaison Offices located at New Delhi, Calcutta, Guwahati, Shillong, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, North Lakhimpur, Jorhat.

II.   For foreign tourists

The foreign tourists can obtain the Protected Area Permit from all Indian Missions abroad, Home Ministry, Govt. of India and Home Commissioners, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar.

Protected Area Permit

Relaxation of Protected Area Regime in Arunachal Pradesh 

Foreign tourists can now visit in a group of two or more persons as against the earlier requirement of four or more persons. The stay permit for foreign visitors has also been extended to 30 days from the earlier permit of 10 days. 

Foreign Tourists intending to visit Arunachal Pradesh require a Restricted Area Permit. The foreign tourists can obtain the Protected Area Permit from:

All India Missions abroad,
All Foreigners Regional Registration Officers (FRROs) at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata
Chief Immigration Officers, Chennai
Home Ministry, Govt. of India 
Home Commissioner, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Itanagar 

The permit can be obtained for a period of 30 (thirty) days for a group consisting of two or more persons. 

The application giving the details like Name, passport number, its issuing authority and the expiry date, place of birth, profession, proposed duration of stay and the purpose of visit should be made to the following address:

Foreign Tourists visiting Arunachal Pradesh will have to pay US$ 50 per head to Government of Arunachal Pradesh and application for RAP should be applied through Local approved tour operator.
